I have good friends.  I’m not just talkin’ “good friends,” like people that care about me a lot and I have fun with.  I’m talkin’ GOOD friends…as in “I’m not afraid to call you out when you’re being a jerk” or “I’ll have an awkward conversation with you when I think you need to get your butt back to church” or  ”I’ll wake up at 5am to drive you to the airport so you can save $30 cab fare, ya cheapskate…” kinds of friends.  I adore my friends.

Catherine is one of them.

I blogged about my longtime friendship with Catherine here, when I did their first family session.  Unfortunately I have been a terrible friend lately, and have been so caught up in all of my other “gigs,” that I haven’t bothered to offer to shoot her beautiful growing family.  Catherine is expecting baby #2 in August, so when we had both of our families up in DC for the weekend together last weekend, the poor girl finally asked me “I hate to put more work on your plate, but can you please take a few photos of us and my growing belly?”  GAH!  I can’t believe I made her ask that!  Epic. Friend. Fail.  I should have offered a long time ago, so of course I was thrilled to do a quick 10-minute mini-session with her, her awesome hubby Eric, their sweet little Joshua, and baby #2 (who happened to be hiding behind Catherine’s ever-expanding abdomen.)  We had terrible weather (light rain, harsh mid-day light, storm moving in,) so we kept it quick-n-dirty.  I owe her a real session later this summer.  Here are a few shots of some of our dearest friends…
